Educational Philosophy |
In essentials, unity; in nonessentials, liberty; in all things charity. My philosophy of education is based on this adage from the Protestant Reformation. There is a common body of knowledge, principles, and skills that are essential and should be learned by all members of our society. Beyond those core elements of learning, students and teachers should be given as much liberty and autonomy as possible in what they learn and teach. In all things we do in education, relationships are most important and people should be treated with respect, dignity, and charity. |
