The Gulf Coast Job Expo will be held 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. at the George
R . Brown Convention Center. The expo offers job seekers the opportunity
to meet potential employers, practice interviewing skills, network,
present resumes and obtain jobs. Last year, more than 3,000 people
attended.
The Cultural Arts Council of Houston/Harris County
and Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts will host the first
Individual Artist Fair noon - 6:30 p.m. at CACHH, 3201 Allen Parkway.
The fair is designed to include a wide range of topics to bolster
the effectiveness and strength of artists in the Houston metropolitan
area. Topics will include marketing, proposal writing, legal and
tax issues, and contract negotiation. An artist reception will follow
the workshops. The fair is free, but artists must register by April

The first Earth Day Kite Festival will
be held at Cameron Festival Park, located in Seabrook at the corner
of Hwy. 146 and Red Bluff Road. The festival will include environmental
displays, live music, food, beverages and children's activities.
The event benefits the Endangered Species Media Project, a nonprofit
organization dedicated to promoting the understanding of how the
quality of human life can be enhanced by the preservation of our
wilderness and wildlife. The park will be open 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.,
with musical performances by local bands starting at 2 p.m. The
public will enjoy free admission with a kite to fly or a non-perishable

Grand Prairie ISD Teacher Job Fair will be held
at Grand Prairie High Schoolfrom 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. More than 30 elementary
and secondary representatives will be there. Bring resumes to the

Cinco de Mayo Celebration in the amphitheater located beside the
Bayou Building. The celebration will be all day.

Fifth Annual Teacher Job Fair will be held at Duncanville High School
8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Pre-registration deadline is April 17. All teacher
applicants are requested to submit a completed application on file
