Should summer school classes be diminished to accommodate the current budget cuts? If no, what area do you think should accommodate the budget cut?

"As Dr. Staples said, 'These are very uncertain times.' I have worked for the UH System for 21 years. I've been through several cuts, but this is proposed to be the worst according to Dr. Staples. Students need to voice their concerns to their legislators and indicate their displeasure due to increasing fees."
Susan Lietner Prihoda,
R.N., M.S. Director,
Health & Disability services

"No. I feel education is a vital role in today's world. If we cut classes, classes will begin to overcrowd and the cost of classes will just keep getting higher and higher."
Cheri Aliu
School of Fitness and Human Performance

"Cutting a few classes during the summer session will not be that bad as long as the regular semesters are not effected. Most students usually take classes during the fall and spring semesters."
Sumreen Ahmad
School of Science and Computer Engineering

"No, because tuition is a major source of revenue for the college. Instructors will take a pay-cut (administration is glossing this over with euphemisms) and students will become economically impacted by fee increases. It is obvious that administrators do not plan to take salary cuts their only burden is uncertainty of the future."
Andrea Ramirez
School of Business & Public Administration
