Dos Hermanos Mexican Kitchen and Cantina, owned and operated by Brian and Brent Medearis, opened in December 2002 and is located in Pearland off of Broadway near 288.

Upon entering the restaurant you walk through a beach-like foyer and are greeted by one of the many hostesses who will escort you to the section of your choice. The aroma of fresh tortillas, the sound of sizzling plates and lively music surround you.

Once seated in the main dining room, customers feel as if they are sitting in a cafŽ on the streets of old Mexico. A friendly waiter will take your drink order and bring out bowls of chips and salsa. The green sauce is especially good, a spicy mixture made from fresh avocados and special spices.

The menu has many traditional favorites, but for a spicy kick try Chon's Spicy Fajitas grilled with the chef's blend of unique spices or Maria Dortotea's Fajita Asada, charbroiled beef marinaded in the house sauce, topped with monterrey jack cheese, mushrooms, onions and bell peppers, served with tortillas.

If you find yourself in the mood for happy hour, Dos Hermanos is currently the only restaurant in Pearland that offers a full-scale bar that can accommodate at least 50 seated individuals.

They offer many specialty drinks, as well as domestic and imported, bottled and draft beer. All of this can be enjoyed on the spacious covered patio or while watching sports games inside on the big screen TV.

Its large and spacious dining room can comfortably seat more than 330 people. The restaurant offers two party rooms: The Acapulco Gold Room, which seats approximately 50 people; and the Poncho Villa Room, which seats approximately 25 people. The restaurant also offers a large- scale catering service and to-go capabilities.

Dos Hermanos offers a wide variety of authentic Mexican food ranging in price from $3.49 for a child's meal to $16.99 for fajitas for two. Everything on the menu is created fresh from scratch every day.

The state-of-the-art kitchen generates orders accurately and promptly to accommodate even the pickiest individual.

They are able to do so through a new monitoring system that connects the waiters' computer system to the kitchen staff. This monitoring system enables the chefs to accurately prepare the correct amounts of food to exact specifications.

"We strive to make improvements and we are getting better at what we do everyday," Brian Mederais said.

The brothers are already in the planning stages of expanding their dream in the summer of 2004. They are currently in the process of adding 30 new parking spaces to meet the growing demand of their customers.

When owner Brian Medearis talks about creating his dream, he calls it a "journey" not just a "job." As a family owned business, it was important to the Mederais brothers to create an overall family atmosphere. For excellent food and an overall great time, visit Dos Hermanos Mexican Kitchen and Cantina at 8126 W. Broadway, Pearland or call (281) 485-1273 for directions or to-go orders.
