The Financial Aid Department now offers electronic fund transfers that apply financial aid loan checks directly to a student's account.

Students can receive financial aid e-mails with helpful tips, hints and important dates. The Financial Aid Department also plans to mail financial aid award letters to students earlier than they have in previous semesters.

Students can apply for loans over the Internet by accessing "Loans By Web" at www.e-fao.com/cluh/student.

"With everything being accessible over the Internet, I can get all of my classes and payments done in just a few minutes," said Wen Jaou, accounting major.

Unofficial copies of student transcripts are now accessible on the Internet. Students can also request an official transcript from www.uhcl.edu/admissions.

Standing in long lines will no longer be a problem for students using a short-term loan. The cashier is now making a short-term loan form available at www.uhcl.edu/ssc/sfa/forms.

EASE On-Line and EASE by Phone offers enrollment alternatives for those who prefer not to register in person. Both EASE processes are set up with instructions on how to register and pay for classes. The class schedules, online catalog and enrollment information can be found on the EASE Web site www.uhcl.edu/admissions/easeonline.htm.

Computers and printers will be temporarily available for students to use in Atrium I during enrollment to access EASE On-Line, print out fee statements, register for classes, pay fees and other registration needs. Enrollment Services has also designated three office computers for student use.

Student volunteers are needed to help with registration and serve as UH-Clear Lake Ambassadors during the week of May 19-23. Students who volunteer for five hours will receive a $25 gift certificate to the campus bookstore.
